Boolean Sequencing is an album of songs entirely created using the ChucK freeware music programming language.
The artist, Les Hall, developed the boolean sequencing technique which is really just an embellishment of the age-old method of using digital logic to decide when and what notes to play over time.

This project results from the manipulation of sonic potential.
Sound is pressure evolving around us. It is not music. Music is related to persons, to what we realise in our heads. Sound can be anything and most of the time has not a particular appeal to the common citizen.
The main reason for this is possibly that the subject requires some skills and interests which are outside those generally possessed by the musical community.
Another reason is that music has never developed the prestige and authority of a language.
Consequently music related people and interested outsiders from other fields feel free to offer your ideas and opinions about sound subjects in a way that you would never do about music.

9cento9 - Slow [cwz013] is the first 2009 release of Chew-Z  and it is the second release of Marco Milanesio in our mp3 catalogue.

This new work of 9cento9 is a travel inside deep emotions.
“Slow” is a contemporary music composition and it is very hard to describe the music of these strange feeling tracks.
They evolve in a mysterious way and let the listener discover them, as the discovering of a landscape of a hypothetical journey in a land where morphology changes every step the traveller takes.

There is a constant and quite fast evolution of the atmosphere in this ambient music that renders it deconstructed but in the meantime very concise and concrete.

Except for the smallest parts, there is a total absence of loops in favour of a formal research that creates melodies and rhythms using electronic devices with a deep knowledge.

This work is the antithesis of what is considered the current trend of making electronic music in today’s day, but these tracks, notwithstanding the artist’s skill in sound design are not only a void style exercise, but are also always loaded with self-explaining contents that are deep and warm.

We hope you will enjoy this precious and beautiful new release.

Founding member and musician of the projects DsorDNE + 9cento9 and the lebel HAX Materiali Per La Comunicazione, active since 1988 (electronic music, ambient and research, experimentation).
Since 1982 has been in charge of various ventures, such as recording studios, music labels and original musical productions. At present busy running and managing the recording studio OFF: complete audio/sound/music production.
