The Mapping Festival is dedicated to VJing and to the task of combining moving images with contemporary cultures. Thus multiplying the events which animate the town and bestowing itself to the Genevans and international visitors.
Formed in 2005 by Modul8 conceptors and Zoo/Usine, The Mapping is in search of all passionate of real time image use, amateurs of electronic cultures, conviviality and discovery.
The festival is a true laboratory for the VJing discipline, offering both novices and professionals the possibility to experiment and encounter. This unique aspect gives the festival a world-wide reputation in the VJ-community as a meeting point you just have to visit.
THE METAMAPPING PROJECT
The MetaMapping is a unique program, 10 days of residency organized by the Mapping Festival and the collective 1024 architecture. The MetaMappings goal is to unite a carefully selected group of ten artists who will work together with interactive media on projects containing projections, light and music.
From the 27th of April till the 7th of May these artists will take over the Parfumerie, live, work and create there. Local artist will as well be invited. The result (installation/ performance) will be presented on the 7th May.

Regulars of the Mapping Festival, the Chicks on Speed will be presenting one of their shows called “Girls Monster”, especially adapted for the Mapping Festival into “Monster of Tech”. The idea? A group of girls, one crazier than the other, music, images and show!!!
