iDMAa is an International Conference on
Digital Media, taking place at La Salle University November 8 – 10. The
purpose of the conference is to help bring the different educators together
to begin to discuss how to make digital communications/media into a discipline.
To that end, iDMAa is trying to contact individuals in the mid-Atlantic area
who teach digital media, digital design, digital communications, or one of the
other new media programs in existence.
The Conference speakers include: Lars Qvortrup
on Hypercomplexity, K. Hariharan on Evolving Nature of Digital Film/Video, Allan
Jacob from Autodesk (the makers of Maya) Contemporary Issues of 3-d Animation,
Peter Rivera from AOL, Curt Kratchman from Schematic Corporation and others.
A sample of the sessions include, Mobile
Media, Second Life, Collaboration Journalism, Design Activism, Pedagogy, Promotion
and Tenure in the Academe, Multi Media Programming, Digital Music Composition
and more.
