Berna Ekim, Academician, Writer & Researcher
Born in Istanbul. She earned her BA degree on Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design from Bahcesehir University, Istanbul and her MA degree on Communication Arts from Institute of Social Sciences, Istanbul Kultur University.
She worked as an interactive/graphic designer at various advertising agencies. Now, she is a Research Assistant at Faculty of Fine Arts-Animation Department, Maltepe University in Istanbul. Since June 2011, she is a board member at amberPlatform (a research and production platform on art and new technologies www.amberplatform.org). She researches and writes articles on new media and interactivity, digital media, social media, visual culture and semiotics, cyber culture. She is a member of “Girls In Tech”, Istanbul organization, and also writer at sosyalmedyaport.com.
