Performances, workshops, filmscreenings and interactive installation
The Edith Russ Site for Media Art, the Association for Youth Culture Engagement and the Kulturetage Oldenburg present a series of events which broach the issue of dance and new media. From 28 July until 6 August well known dancers, choreographers and dance companies as well is media artists will give a guest performance of multimedia dance. The events will take place at the Edith Russ Site for Media Art and at the Kulturetage ldenburg. Furthermore workshops will be offered in order to give an impression about dance and new media and to make first experience with "digital dance".

A forest is both architecture and also organism. A forest is an area outside civilization and human culture, an ambivalent place of fears and inspiring fantasies. Media artist Chris Ziegler created a media space which is used as an interactive installation as well as a performance environment for dance, light and electric sound. At the opening the environment is the stage for the dancer Christine Bürkle and the composer Sandeep Bhagwati. Afterwards the audience is invited to create light effects and sound by moving through this virtual forest.

The piece "Madame K" of the Swiss choreographer and video artist Nicole Seiler is a multi media trip through fragments of a women's life, which is torn between a perfect image and her own truth. After the show Nicole Seiler will present her dance-film "One in a Million" which is created to explore the movement and limitation of the human body and to extend potentials of choreography.
