HAUS DER KULTUREN DER WELT, MARIA AM OSTBANHOF - BERLINO

Transmediale è uno dei più importanti festival internazionali di arti e creatività legati ai media digitali in Germania e nel mondo. Con cadenza annuale, il festival presenta progetti innovativi nel campo della cultura digitale e riflette mediante una serie di workshop e conferenze sul ruolo delle nuove tecnologie nella società contemporanea. E' inoltre un punto di incontro importante per artisti, media workers e per tutte quelle persone interessate alle arrti elettroniche.

Il tema di questa edizione di Transmediale sonoi BASICS: cioè le basi, i fondamenti delle varie pratiche artistiche mediante le tecnologie digitali. Il festival indaga quindi quelle che sono le basi etiche ed estetiche di questa cultura elettronica e presenta progetti la cui etica non deriva quindi da modelli passati, ma dalla profonda appropriazione di questa nostra cultura contemporanea, estrema e contradditoria.

Il complesso programma di questa edizione 2005 prevede, oltre ai consueti dibattiti e incontri presso la House of World Cultures, sono previsti le sezioni Conference, Workspace (denominato The Basement), Video Screenings e Exhibition di progetti di arti multimediali. E' inoltre previsto un programma serale con la sezione Performaces e una nuova struttura denominata Basic Sounds in collaborazione con Club Transmediale.

E sarà proprio il Club Transmediale a proseguire la prorammazione del festival fino a notte fonda e anche oltre le normali giornate del festival, fino infatti al 12 Febbraio. Ginuto alla sua sesta edizione, Club Transmediale CTM05, prosegue il suo discorso di ricerca nella musica elettronica e nelle contaminazioni sempre più audaci tra audio e video

Club Transmediale si svolgerà principalmente presso il MAO (Maria am Ostbanhof) dal 4 al 12 febbraio

Parallelamente al festival Transmediale sono molti gli eventi che si susseguono, sfruttando la vetrina del festival e interagendo con esso. Da notare soprattutto la rassegna Hack.it.art, organizzata da AHA, sulle forme di hactivismo in Italia e la rassegna Digital Pioneers, sui pionieri delle arti digitali negli anni '60 in Svezia e nel mondo presso il DAM (Digital Art Museum9 di Berlino. Sempre di rilievo infine la miriade di feste, party, rassegne organizzate in tuttala città nell'arco delle giornate del festival.
