NFT IMAX CINEMA - LONDRA

Il BFI Nation Film Theatre (NFT), uno dei più importanti centri per lo studio delle immagini in movimento e dell'audiovisivo nonchè autore di DVD e show televisivi come Mixmaster, e Addictive Tv, uno dei più importanti gruppi di vj del mondo, presentano la prima edizione del festival Optronica, la prima rassegna mondiale dedicata all'esplorazione della convergenza tra visual e musica. Un ibrido tra un festival di video arte e uno di musica elettronica. che segue quel fenomeno tipicamente underground di fusione alchemica tra suono e immagini elettroniche, a sua volta ispirato dai più recenti film sperimentali, dall'universo dei club e dai mondi artisti alternativi.

In Optronica viene coniato un termine piuttosto nuovo che è quello di visual music, che in questo festival viene riportato sul grande schermo in un contesto del tutto nuovo come quello del London IMAX Cinema, uno dei più grandi e innovativi schermi d'Europa.

Tra i vari spettacoli proposti è quindi giusto ricordare:

- La prima mondiale dei Plaid dal vivo con il loro video artista di fiducia Bob Jaroc, in un nuovissimo progetto audiovisivo sorround chiamato "Greedy Baby". In aggiunta si esibiranno i Mellowtrons, un duo audiovisivo composto da Lee Walker e l'anima grafica e visiva degli Orbital Giles Thacker

- La prima inglese del progetto Rebirth of a Nation di DjSPooky, un live solo musicale sulle immagini del controverso capolavoro di Griffith, Rebirth of a Nation del 1915. Anche in questo caso si esibiranno i vincitori del concorso Diesel-U-Music Award inglese, il collettivo degli Exceeda

- L'ex Kraftwerk Karl Bartos si esibirà dal vivo ma arricchirà la sua presenza con una lecture in occasione del festival

- I live di Skoltz_Kolgen, People Like Us, Masakatsu Takaci, Sancho Plan, Hexstatic, Jeroen Hofs, Vicki Bennet, Chris Allen dei Light Surgeon e infine il gruppo di vj Addictive Tv con una serie di proiezioni visibili attraverso il Tamigi

- Dj:Vj set con Dj Joakim, Legowelt e Si Begg accompagnati ai visual da eMovie, Vj Milosh, TomoGrpaher e Stanzacrew
